Today’s Friday Fictioneers prompt (yes, it’s Wednesday but by Friday my brain is frazzled) is of a very tidy kitchen. Mine isn’t like this. It’s noisier too.
“That one’s the moon!”
“No it’s not, silly-billy,” he squeaked.
She squeezed the dishcloth out. “Don’t be mean to your little sister.”
“That one is the moon,” he pointed to the paper globe, “and that is Mars, ‘cos it’s red.”
“No it’s red ‘cos it’s Venus, Goddess of love,” shrilled the younger sibling.
“Mars is the red planet.”
She listened and wiped down the draining board. At least while they bickered they shovelled mountains of food into their hungry bellies.
Her husband had moaned putting up the lampshades. “Why so many?”
“You never know, might come in handy.”

Yeah, right! I read nearly all the entries and those shades came up a lot! I keep seeing shades like them at Ikea. Maybe they would look nice in my house! 😉
