Product team meeting

Hello to Friday Fictioneers!  Today’s picture prompt started a chain of thoughts. I used to work, years ago, for a humongous consumer products company…

“Look at this photograph. Tell me what you see?”

Not the view. We’re not here for that.

“Pumps. Gels. Liquids”

“So why are we still making bars of soap?”

Think about it. It’s obvious to me.

“The scent travels. You can put it in your underwear drawer. My gran does.”

“Your grandmother.”

Okay, not a great example. “It’s hard, physical. You can feel it foam up, turn smooth and creamy.”

“So can a liquid.”

Why debate? The decision has been made.

“My kids like to chase it about in the bathwater.” I grin.

Blank faces.

Seriously. I’ve got to get a new job.

I guess bars of soap are being replaced. I’d never thought about it.
