Open waters

Time flies and I forget to keep up.  Here’s a little flash fiction and the photo prompt comes from Rochelle’s Friday Fictioneers.

Amanda hated frogs. Tiptoeing around the edge, she squished her toes back inside her sandals. How to tell Finlay? “Could we…”

He shoved his hands in his pockets. “I’m sorry. This isn’t working out, is it?”

Maybe. “It’s just…I’m not keen on water.”

Finlay dipped his chin and examined his boots. “Sure. I understand.”

Why the need for a great adventure? She looped her arm around his and tugged. “It’s okay. We can walk a little, find a pub.”

The corners of his eyes wrinkled with a faint smile.

“First dates often go a little awry. Time will tell.”

    Dear Rachel,

A bit of a rough start but perhaps things will work out for them. Nicely done.

    Shalom,

They genuinely seem to like each other. Now, if they can tolerate their differences, they have a future. Great characters, lovely story.

Gorgeous. I love the dialogue – these two are an endearing couple; I hope they make it.
