High and mighty – #flashfiction

It was the angle of the photographer that caught my eye this week, that feeling of been looked down upon.

“Where’s your sense of perspective? You’re always taking sides.”
What a snarky remark! “Just because you’re up there amongst the glittering lights, doesn’t mean you can look down on us.”
“It takes courage, dedication, lot’s of practice, being up there.” He flexed his bulging biceps.
“You’re jealous because everyone loves a clown and I make it look easy. I’m right there with the crowd, making ‘em laugh, while you play at being Tarzan.” I pulled on my oversize shoes and polished my nose.
One happy family. That’s what they told me to expect when I joined the circus. Ha, bloody, ha.

LOL love this snippet into circus life. Everyone sees it as fun and games, so I love that you took it a different direction. Great story 🙂

Love the reveal of circus clown at the end. Excellent little chuckle. Well done.

What a great and interesting view of (circus) life with what I would call an aerialist discoursing with a clown. I initially took the aerialist as a literary vision of God looking down on us, but soon twisted the clown figure into a “Jesus” persona walking among the people – and chuckled as the two of them verbally parried with each other, I don’t think you meant to take it this far, but I did, and enjoyed it at this level.

PS line 4, “lot’s” should be just “lots” – no apostrophe.

I’ve never liked clowns but I have some sympathy for this one.
