A-to-Z and the book

I’ve signed up again!  Yes, the A to Z blogging challenge beckons and I’ve succumbed.

Already, I’m wondering what I’ve let myself in for and if I really can deliver a post a day when I’ve hardly posted anything for months.

Why? Because I’ve been super busy working on my book and finally it is on Amazon and available for pre-order.  My blogging theme has to be something about this book I decided. But what exactly? Well, that will be revealed in a later post.

For now, here’s the link and a little teaser – the opening sentence.

I shortened the lengths of my strides, ignored the numbing embrace of a premature autumn and allowed my senses the opportunity to coax awake quiescent memories.

  1. Congratulations!!! The book sounds awesome too.

I’ve sighed for the challenge again too, I’m already working on the posts.
If I may suggest: do write something connected to the book, but don’t write specifically about the book. Last year, there were lots of authors blogging about their charactes, their settings, their story elements. I tried to follow them, but I quit all of them.
It may be just me, but if a story sounds interesting, I’ll buy and read the book. I dont’ need to read 26 posts about it. But I may want to know more about what’s inside the book. Info on which you may expand on. Things that inspired you. I dont’ know. Anything but the actual story.

Hope this helps. I know it may just be me, but I thought I’d share 😉

    1. I think I would run out of ideas trying to write about my book for 26 posts! Also the nature of the story means I can say a lot about it without creating spoilers. My theme is going to continue from my previous two years – castles, cathedrals and abbeys, and move into another historical area. The links to the book will be only a footnote on each post and the reason why will become more obvious when I reveal the theme. I’m looking forward to reading yours. It’s good to catch up with everyone once a year! Good luck. Now I just need to start working on the posts….

  2. Hello Rachel,

I’m loving your posts and look forward to reading your book, but I’ll have to wait until May 4 as it’s not available from US Amazon until then.

This is my first time joining the A to Z Blog Challenge. I find that writing a daily post is daunting and I admire your perseverance. I am a new writer. I use the word ‘new’, but actually I’ve been writing my book off and on for ten years. I recently had the great thrill of finally typing ‘The End’. I write historical fiction and I’m interested in connecting with other writers who love history as much as I do.

Should you ever be interested in my posts my blog name is: rrfedynahistorygal.blogspot.com
